Unveiling the Verdant Path: My Journey into the World of Gardening

In the quiet corners of my mind, a seed of inspiration took root, urging me to embark on a journey unlike any other - a journey into the realm of gardening. This newfound passion promised not just a greener thumb but a deeper connection to the earth and all its wonders. Thus began my adventure, filled with anticipation, discovery, and the gentle rhythm of nature's song.

Seeds of Curiosity:

The allure of gardening beckoned with whispers of promise, enticing me to explore the boundless possibilities that lay within a patch of earth. Like an artist with a blank canvas, I stood before my garden-to-be, eager to breathe life into the soil and watch my wildflower meadow flourish under my care.

Cultivating the Unknown:

With trowel in hand and a heart full of hope, I delved into the mysteries of gardening, guided by intuition and a thirst for knowledge. Each day brought new revelations, from the delicate dance of sunlight and shade to the intricate symphony of soil microbes and root systems. In this journey of cultivation, I found not just plants but a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness of all living things.

Nurturing Growth:

As tiny seeds sprouted into vibrant life, I marvelled at the magic unfolding before my eyes. From tender shoots reaching for the sky to the lush abundance of a bountiful harvest, each growth stage brought a sense of awe and wonder. And in the quiet moments spent among the blossoms and bees, I found solace and peace in the simple act of tending to the earth.

Embracing Challenges:

Yet, amidst the beauty of the garden, challenges lurked in the shadows, testing my resolve and resilience. There were moments of frustration and setbacks, from the relentless onslaught of pests to the whims of unpredictable weather. But with each obstacle overcome, I emerged stronger and more determined, armed with newfound knowledge and a deeper appreciation for nature's resilience.

Cultivating Community:

In the shared joy of growing, I discovered a vibrant community of fellow gardeners united by a common love for the earth and all its wonders. Together, we swapped seeds, shared stories of success and failure, and celebrated the beauty of each bloom and harvest. In this garden of friendship, I found not just camaraderie but a sense of belonging and connection that enriched my journey beyond measure.

The Evergreen Horizon:

As I stand on the threshold of a new season, I am filled with anticipation for the wonders that lie ahead. There are still seeds to be sown, dreams to be nurtured, and memories to be made in the garden. But amidst the uncertainty of what the future may hold, one thing remains certain - the boundless joy and wonder of tending to the earth and watching it thrive.

In the end, my journey into gardening is not just about cultivating plants; it's about cultivating a deeper connection to the natural world, nurturing a sense of wonder and appreciation for the beauty that surrounds us, and embracing the endless possibilities that come with each new day.

So, as the sun sets on another day in the garden, I invite you to join me on this verdant path, where every step brings us closer to the heart of nature and the beauty that lies within.

Happy gardening!

After The Storm

I have neglected this blog over the past year or so, with only adding things every now and again. Im going to make the effort to actually start posting once in a while

Work (if any) in progress

I typed up a long, probably 1000 words on a post here last week about where I was with my photography, how I have struggled bla bla. Then I hit a key (dont know which one) and deleted it all. I was pissed off as I had sat for well over half an hour spurning it out. But looking back, I dont think it was relevant to put that process of thought out there for the world to read, if anyone reads this. I am at the stage now; still where I am still not photographing much, but thinking about what I am doing with my life. Music is starting to take the lead role in my thoughts ever since leaving university, in which it held pole position before my degree.

I still dont know what is going to happen to be honest. And that in a way scares me, but maybe it will be an adventure, actually its always an adventure. Maybe it will be a good one!
I was going to write something deep and meaningful about how I feel at the moment and how inspired I am, but.... I cant be bothered

Third View

The only way to really grasp what this project is about is to visit the website, which to be honest doesn't totally do it justice.

Since photography came about, some 180 (arguable) years ago, photographers have photographed the landscape, for various reasons. The purpose of the original project at around the turn of the 20th century was a geological and geographic survey of the american west. In the 1970's it was photographed again in the same manner, and just a few years ago it was photographed a third time.

this book is essentially an archival document, showing change and development over a century through photography.

A truly worthwhile piece of work!
